Halloween in New York: Why I Chose CircoLoco NYC
A quick guide to Halloween season in New York — from the Village Parade to Brooklyn parties, costume tips and why CircoLoco was my pick in 2024.

Some are more elegant, some are more chaotic, and some are full warehouse energy in Brooklyn. I heard a lot about City of Gods, Hulaween and the classic hotel parties, but in 2024 I chose CircoLoco Halloween NYC.
Mostly because BLOND was playing.
That was enough for me.
CircoLoco already has that Ibiza-meets-underground feeling, and in New York it becomes darker, colder and a little more dramatic. Red lights, strong looks, people in costumes that actually feel styled, and music that makes you forget your phone for a while.
The lineup also had Luciano, Skream and The Martinez Brothers, so it was not just a random Halloween party. It was a real music night.
That is always my preference.
For costumes, I would not overcomplicate it. If you are traveling, do not bring a giant suitcase only for Halloween. In New York, you can rent or buy almost everything.
Abracadabra NYC is good if you want costumes, wigs, props, makeup and rentals all in one place. Halloween Adventure in the East Village is another classic option, especially if you need something last minute.
But my honest advice? Build a look, not just a costume.
A black dress, boots, gloves, strong makeup, a veil, a mask, maybe something vintage — it can look much better than a ready-made costume from a bag.
Also, wear shoes you can actually walk in. This is New York. You will walk, wait, take stairs, cross streets, get cold, maybe take the subway, maybe regret your whole outfit by midnight.
Choose beauty, but choose survival too.
My perfect Halloween night in New York would be simple: dinner in Manhattan, a little walk near the Village to feel the parade madness, then Brooklyn for the real party.
Not too polished. Not too planned.
That is the fun part.
Coming from Dubai, where nights can feel very perfect and controlled, New York Halloween felt more raw. A little messy, a little stylish, a little strange.
And honestly, that is exactly why I loved it.

Halloween in New York: Why I Chose CircoLoco NYC
New York in October has a completely different energy.
The air gets colder, the streets look more cinematic, and suddenly everyone is planning a costume, a party, a dinner, a rooftop, or all of them in the same night.
Halloween here is not just one evening. It feels like the whole city slowly turns into a movie.
You have the famous Village Halloween Parade, which is loud, crowded and very New York. Giant costumes, music, people walking through Manhattan like they are part of a strange little dream. Even if you do not join the parade, it is worth seeing at least once.
Then there are the parties.
